Private Music Lessons

Thomas was easy to work with, flexible and dependent. He helped my daughter build confidence and develop skills without pressure. He was easy to communicate with and exceeded out expectations. Pleasure to work with.
-Sherry L., Seattle, WA
Thomas is very nice, knowledgeable and serious, I like serious teachers cause I learn more. He has attention to every detail and motivates me to reach my goal!
-Mona A., Los Angeles, CA
Thomas taught our 10yo son and 8yo daughter piano during the school year 14/15. Our kids were brand new to piano and Thomas did a great job connecting with them on their learning terms and taught them and amazing amount of music. He kept it fresh, was patient, and was very consistent about practice time, using the metronome, posture etc. While I wouldn't call him super strict he brought the right elements of discipline for our kids and they now love the piano and will continue this year.
-Tim L., Seattle, WA
No one ever regrets learning an instrument… yet many grow old wishing they had taken music lessons! A talent they’ll be able to develop their entire life, your children will thank you for giving them the chance to learn music. And bonus points for you: after just a couple years, you’ll have free entertainment every Christmas!

Or maybe you're the one that wishes to learn! It is never too late to begin learning an instrument. Everybody has the ability, and if you’re determined and interested, there’s nothing stopping us from achieving this very special goal.

Everybody learns differently, and everybody likes different things. Whether it’s improvising or singing alongside a song you love or reading through a classical concerto, I’ll help prepare you or your child to tackle a wide variety of styles, without missing out on any of the basics that turn good players into phenomenal musicians. We all know it’s not about being the best. It’s about having fun, and playing music well is definitely fun. Lessons include:
  1. Building a really strong foundation so it's easy to understand any piece of music.
  2. Learning effective practice techniques, so you don't waste your time.
  3. Learning to sightread music, so you can play it well the first time.
  4. Learning how to improvise music, play music by ear, and understand chords and harmony.
  5. Playing in different styles of music from classical to jazz to pop.
  6. Composing our own original music, and learning how to arrange any piece of music so we can play it.

Lessons may be held online or, for those in the Los Angeles area, in person. With a diverse background teaching everyone from 3-year-olds to 70-year-olds, you'll get custom lessons that will teach a variety of styles and techniques. Lessons are available in the following areas:
  • Piano
  • Saxophone
  • Clarinet
  • Flute
  • Trumpet
  • Music Theory
  • Composition
What you learn here will last your whole life, and few other skills can claim that. I don’t want to sugarcoat it: it takes time to learn an instrument. It takes practice, and sometimes it’s frustrating. But the results are well worth it.

Now get out there and make some music! But start by signing up for lessons. I can’t wait to get started!
